Interpreting

Depositions: Over the years, I have done more than 500 hours of depositions interpreting work, both as a check interpreter and as the main interpreter.

A significant portion of my assignments concern intellectual property rights, particularly patent disputes.

Conferences: In addition, I work both as a conference interpreter and as a consecutive interpreter. My specialty is in unscripted, live Q&As. Clients in this area include Omega, The Economist Conferences, China External Trade Development Council (CETRA) and the Ministry of Economic Affairs (Taiwan).

I am also a UN-convoked interpreter and listed in the database of UN exams-qualified interpreters in China.

In addition, I’m a NAETI (National Accreditation Examinations for Translators and Interpreters) and CATTI-certified (China Aptitude Test for Translator and Interpreter) translator and interpreter.

Translation

I have worked as a freelance translator since 1992.

At present, I cover most of the translations for the Chinese (Taiwan) edition of The Economist Newspaper, which appears as a regular supplement in the Taiwan Business Weekly, a Tom.com publication.

I was educated in Taiwan and in the United Kingdom.
